Organizing a symposium on water saving

   Sponsored by the dean of Collage of Science professor Dr. Hadi M. Ali Abood from the Chemistry Department organized a specialized symposium on water saving to improve environmental practices related to water, in the Faw hall according to the directives from the ministry of education and scientific research, where the lecturer assistant professor Wedad H.Shaban whose a tutor in the Chemistry Department indicated that the water crisis in Iraq is one of the most important problems facing the Economic of Iraq especially the agricultural sector as Iraq is known as an agricultural country mentioning the majority of water crises, even if it’snot clearly appeared but it will be so dangerous in the future. He also indicated the shortness and pollution of water which is a serious responsibility to the citizens to solve such problem by obtaining “water consciousness" to develop good attitudes and behaviors to deal with water resources aiming to conserve water to be exploited better.

 

 

At the end of the symposium some topic where put basically to encourage the researchers, tutors and postgraduate students to redirect all research’s properly to treat water shortness by different ways of rationalization and to introduce materials that decreases the plants water needs or even to grow in salt areas this is an important feature in agricultural whereas plants consume more than 75% of water available mentioning the large areas in Iraq that experiences salinity although mentioning introduction of new industrial ways used to recycle used water rather than discharging it in the rivers that cause pollution. The attendances are colleagues from the collage of science and students.
