About Medical Physics Science



The Department of Medical Physics was established at the College of Science in 2023. The duration of study in the department is four calendar years interspersed with the spring break and the two-week spring break and the summer vacation of two months.
The department grants a bachelor's degree in medical physics after the student is prepared in a systematic scientific preparation that qualifies him to keep pace with technical progress in the field of scientific research and provide service to the public and private sectors.
The teaching staff consists of (21) teaching staff holding doctorate, master's and bachelor's degrees, in addition to the presence of administrative staff.
The preliminary studies in the department adopt an advanced educational curriculum developed by qualified professors after using the curriculum of prestigious international universities to be appropriate and keep pace with the movement of technical development and the requirements of the labor market.
During the four years, the student studies scientific curricula that qualify him to work in nuclear medicine centers and is responsible for examining medical devices and their safety in terms of measuring the percentage of radiation issued by the device.

Medical physics is divided into four main branches:

-Radiation Therapy Physics
-Diagnostic Imaging Physics
-Radiation Protection (Medical Health Physics)
-Nuclear Medicine Physics

-Laser Physics
-Bioelectric Physics (Electrophysiognomyography, Cardiocardiomy, Brain and Muscle Bioelectric) (Physics) 
-Heat wave physics and heat therapy. (Infrared and Thermal Therapy)
-Ultra Sound Physics

Graduates of the departments of medical physics is a Bachelor of Science in Medical Physics.
 
Job Title:
A graduate of medical physics sciences is given the job title "Medical Physical Assistant"
 
Labor market for medical physics graduates:
-Radiology centers: working in radiology centers that specialize mainly in medical and radiological imaging.
-Scientific and research laboratories: Work in laboratories that are located in all institutions such as research centers, scientific societies and universities.
-Hospitals and health centers: Work in all hospitals and health centers where there are departments for medical imaging and radiology.
-Reactors: Work in various fields in atomic and nuclear reactors.
-Lens factories: Work in the fields of quality control and standards in factories that specialize in the manufacture of lenses and related products
-Medical equipment companies: work in institutions that specialize in supplying medical devices to hospitals and laboratories
-Quality Control and Assurance: Work in the field of quality control and assurance in institutions and establishments related to this field.
