Professor Dr. Amina Mohsen Abbas, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, participated in the discussion of a Master's thesis by the student Hanaa Yaseen Najib from the Department of Physics at the University of Anbar, titled:

“Efficiency of Carbon Dioxide Adsorption Using Aerogel from Carbon Nanotubes Modified with Different Amines.”

The research aims to study the efficiency of carbon dioxide (CO₂) adsorption using an aerogel prepared from carbon nanotubes (CNTs) modified with different amines, and the effect of the type of amines on the material's ability to capture CO₂, contributing to the development of effective technologies to reduce carbon emissions. The results showed that surface modification with amines significantly enhanced the adsorption efficiency, with performance varying according to the type of amine used, indicating the potential for employing this technology in environmental and industrial applications in the future.
