The Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Unit, in collaboration with the Media Department at the College of Science at Al-Nahrain University, held a seminar titled

"Towards a Society Dominated by Respect and Tolerance,"

presented by Dr. Iman Saddam Mohammed, head of the Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Department at the university presidency, and Dr. Tania Tahseen Naimah. The seminar highlighted several negative phenomena prevalent in the university environment, such as ideological extremism and bullying, and addressed the causes of these behaviors and their negative impacts on students and society. The attendees engaged significantly with the brainstorming approach used by Dr. Iman, where several questions were raised, including: What is the meaning of extremism? How can these phenomena be reduced in the university community? Students expressed various opinions reflecting their awareness of the importance of dialogue and respecting others, affirming the necessity of instilling values of tolerance, acceptance, and rejecting extremist behaviors. Dr. Tania also discussed the importance of communicating with students and listening to their problems.
