Festival for science college students

Under the direct supervision of the esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Taha Shawi Murad, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nisreen Rahim Jabr.

Today, on Wednesday, the inaugural extracurricular activities festival for science college students commenced at ten o'clock in the morning. The event is taking place at Al Salam Hall for Major Conferences and is scheduled to run for two days. The festival is being sponsored by Zain Telecommunications Company and has garnered notable participation from all departments within the college. Notably, the Department of Computer Science has made a distinguished presence, with oversight from the department's Head, Professor Suhad Abd. Rahman. The festival witnessed the presence of numerous university and college leaders, notably Dr. Ban Fawzi, the Director of the Department of Media and Public Relations, and Dr. Rasul Hisham Abdel Rasul, the Director of the Computer Centre at Al-Nahrain University. Additionally, faculty members from various departments within the College of Science were in attendance, alongside a substantial gathering of students from scientific disciplines. During the commencement of the festival, recitations from the Holy Qur'an were performed, accompanied by a ceremonial recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah, dedicated to the remembrance of the Iraqi martyrs. During the opening speech, the Dean of the College of Science emphasised the significance of integrating work and science to enhance Iraq's reputation and development. The Dean also highlighted the role of current students in laying the foundation for Iraq's future leadership. He commended the collective endeavours undertaken to organise and execute this festival. The festival encompassed a diverse range of activities, including poetry interludes, reflections, and musical performances by talented students from the college. Intellectual competitions were organised, wherein the college's students actively participated and demonstrated remarkable problem-solving abilities. The winners of these competitions were awarded symbolic prizes. Following the conclusion of the inaugural day of the festival, an official announcement was made regarding the forthcoming Babylonian Civilization Competition. The competition is scheduled to take place on Thursday at nine o'clock in the morning. Notably, the determination of the grand prize was facilitated by extensive student involvement through electronic means.
